A few of the new make up products for summer from Avon that I've been trying out.

Avon's Extra Lasting Liquid foundation is sweat & water resistant, medium to full coverage, comfortable and is long lasting. I have had the chance to wear it out in 80+ degree heat and during my work out and it has held up great.

The Marbled Peach Bronzer works great as a blush or all over bronzer.  It gives a nice glow with out being too peachy or dirty brown like some bronzers. It does have a touch of luminocity to it, but it is not glittery or obvious.

The Reflect Lipgloss line is very perlecent and moisturizing. The shade I in the video is New Nude which is very natural and it has a soft sweet scent to it.

Avon Extra Lasting Foundation Review - New Product!!

This review is on Avon's new product ExtraLasting Foundation that will be available in June 2011. I have been testing this foundation for over a week and absolutely love it.

What it does:
-Full coverage foundation
-Resists water & humidity
-Light comfortable feel on skin
-Long wearing

I have to agree with the product description. I have been able to get great full coverage with out having to layer it on like a mask.  I have worn it during my work outs and while running errands in humid 80 degree weather and it has held up beautifully.  I have not had to do touch ups through out the day and my T-zone has not needing powdering mid day like usual with other foundations.

After the foundation is applied it leaves a comfortable dry finish that feels like your skin. It is not shiny or greasy.

Avon's Nailwear Pro Polish in Fuchsia is a great spring & summer color!
The shade is not as "loud" as it might sound. I know some shades of fuchsia remind me of neon pink-really bright. This particular shade is deep pink with a subtle undertone on purple & shimmer. I think this shade would look great with a tan or against darker skin tones.  2 coats is all you need with this polish & it's long lasting.

I had used this product years ago and just recently purchased again & I'm so glad I did. When I was younger I guess I didn't notice the positive effects as much as I do now...a tad older.
 Claim:

 Since using the pads my skin has cleared up from break outs. Older blemishes,red spots,discoloration has improved if not been removed entirely. Fine lines have seemed to disappear. In general my skin looks and feels smoother, softer & brighter.

 The pads contain glycolic acid which in simple terms breaks down & removes dead skin on the surface to reveal fresh clear skin underneath. It also help with blemishes. The first few applications it might sting, but it does go away in a minute or two. Over time it goes away.

At initial use-the first week or so I noticed minor skin flaking which is good because that was the dull dead skin that has been sitting on my face was being removed. I did some type of facial scrub once a week to sloff off the dead skin.

 I think this products would be beneficial to most age groups and various skin types as it is a great exfoliator which we all need.

Avon ClearSkin Blemish Clearing Spot Treatment

I don't suffer from break outs as much now as I did in my younger days, but I remember it vividly & know what a blow to your confidence it can be to walk around with a huge blemish on your face.

Now I only get one occasionally, but I've found it crucial to have a few products on hand when it happens. I scar easily & once I get a bad blemish or scab I carry the red mark /scar for months before it goes away.

I purchased Avon's ClearSkin Blemish Clearing Spot Treatment initially  just because it was on sale one day. A few weeks after my purchase I had the opportunity to use it when I started to get a couple culprits on my face. 

I am very pleased with the results this product has given me.
Uses:For the treatment of acne. Clear up current blemishes & helps prevent new acne blemishes from forming.
What it Claims To Do:
*Clears up acne pimples & helps prevent new blemishes.
*Attacks acne on the spot.
*See results in 24 hours
How To Use:Apply to clean, dry skin.
Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer.
Apply 1 to 3 Times Daily 
Active Ingredients:SALICYLIC ACID 2.0%
My Results:*Blemish was not as red the next day after 1st application
*Did not over dry my skin or cause irritation
*Seemed to calm the affected area so it wasn't as red/pink
*Blemish cleared at a much fast rate compared to other products I've used.

After applying the spot treatment just to the individual blemishes (not my entire face)  at night before I went to bed I noticed improvement by the next morning.  The blemish didn't seem as irritated & red like it was the night before.

In the morning I applied small dots over the blemish again before applying my make up & again at night before I went to bed.  In 2 to 3 days all of my break outs had cleared nicely. With out irritation, over drying, or extra redness.

I personally think this is a great spot treatment for acne. I would not necessarily recommend using it over your entire face as it comes in a small .5 oz tube.  With that said my tube has lasted me over 4 months. So, it's well worth it for the results you achieve & the price.

Advance Techniques Damage Repair Split End Mender

I have not been kind to my hair over the years to say the least. From flat ironing, coloring to highlighting. And after awhile it really began to show. My hair was rittled with split ends. I could hear strands snap at times when I'd brush out my hair. It was frizzy & had lost it's shine.  I knew I needed to get a product to help nurture my stressed stands back to health.

I have a cabinet full of products I tried in hopes of fixing my damaged hair, but none of them were very successful in the long run. Most gave a temporary fix which was gone once the product was washed out of my hair.

Then I tried the Advance Techniques Damage Repair Split end Mender by Avon.
It comes in a 5oz bottle with a pointed nozzle similar to a bottle that comes in a hair coloring box/kit.

The product has the consistency of a watered down conditioner. And does not have an oily serum texture that most split end treatments have. Which is were the temorary fix comes in with those products. Oil smooths the cuticle and when it's washed out you have frizzy hair again. That is not the case with this product.

There is a mild subtle scent to it that smells like a combination between a sweet conditioner with a hint of a medicated scent. It does go away soon after applying it to your hair, so for those who do not like lingering scents from a product you don't have to worry about that.
To Use:Apply a small amount to damp towel dried hair & style as usual.

I dispense a a pea size or more into the palms of my hands and rub them together & then start by scrunching it into my ends & then work through out the rest of my hair. Then brush my hair with a large tooth comb to ensure even distribution.

After application my hair does not feel greasy or weighed down. I have very baby fine hair, so I'd notice right away if this was a heavy product. It just obsorbed into my dehydrated stands.

After the first use once my hair was dry I noticed it felt very soft & didn't have that dry/crisp feeling it had before due to the damage. With that alone I was happy.

As each week went by with continued use I noticed that the general condition of my hair was getting better. It felt stronger & softer.  There was a healthy shine back in my strands &  my hair was no longer snapping or breaking when I brushed it or when used heat styling on it. I could tell it was less brittle & had stretch back in it.

It has been 3 months now since I first started using the split end mender & can say it saved my hair. And I can vouch to the fact that this is not a temporary fix product & that with continued use your hair becomes more healthy.

Repairs up to 95% of split ends, with regular use, and helps protect against heat styling damage.

I wouldn't have thought that something costing around $8 would have worked so well at repairing my split ends, but I am happy to say that it has & would recommendit to anyone who has damaged hair in need of major TLC. Just remember this is a "treatment" which means you should use it regularly to get the full results.

Avon Advance Techniques -Blonde Anti Brass Shampoo & Mask

  Avon Advance Techniques Anti-Brassiness hair care line is       designed to combat common issues with Blonde(natural or   colored) hair.  Often times Blonde hair becomes brassy,discolored & dull. 

This product line helps to maintain the vibrant upkeep of your hair.

The shampoo is in a blue/purple color which acts as a color correcting toner.

This is the Avon Cluster Statement Ring in Silver Tone. The ring is a one size fits all b/c it has an inner expander ring on the inside of the band to flex in order to fit different sized.

Spring Nail Polish- Avon Nail Wear Pro in "Tropical Punch"

Shade in "Tropical Punch".
This is a great spring/summer color. The photo doesn't quite capture the true shade. The best way to describe it- a pinkish/red shade. Actually very close to the color of bottle of Hawaiian Punch.

One coat is definitely enough for a more pink tone & the more coats applied it builds to a deeper red/pink. So, you can achieve 2 different shades with one polish.

This particular color will really pop on darker skin tones or in the summer against tanned skin.

Review of Avon Perfect Wear Plump & Stay Lip Color(long wear lipstick)- By Dawn Lewis

"Good Product"

For years I have been on the search for a legitimate long wear lipstick. Some I found were not long lasting at all. Others made my lips so dry it hurt. Then there were some that would wear off unevenly or blotchy. And lastly the dreaded ones that made the skin on my lips peel.

I decided to give my search one more shot when the Avon Perfect Wear Plump & Stay lip color was on sale in my Avon brochure. Yes, I am an Avon Sales Rep. That does not mean that I love every product or that I don't think some items are better then others. If this product was going to make the skin on your lips peel off... I wouldn't recommend it. To my surprise that was not the case when I tested it out.

To start off the product comes in a 2 part tube much like a lip gloss wand. On one end is the lip color that is very pigmented & rich in texture. Once applied it dries to a matte finish. The other end of the tube is a clear shiny moisturizing plumping gloss that has a subtle scent of Cinnamon. After I applied the lip color I let it set on my lips for 30 seconds to a minute. Not touching it or rubbing my lips together to allow it to do it's job. After that I applied the gloss which at first did make my lips tingle just a tad, but the sensation went away fast. So if you are someone who does not like the tingle lip plumpers give you- no worries it goes away. The clear gloss does not have shimmer or glitter in it. Just gloss. It is so glossy it looks like glass or water over your lips. The high sheen I found made my narrow lips look full and luscious. The lip color was pigmented like lipstick from a tube.

So far so good. Good color, nice shine & my lips appeared fuller. But the real test was still to come. The entire reason I tried the product... to see if it lasts most of the day. I proceeded to drink some coffee, eat a snack. Then hopped in my car to run some errands all the while sipping my bottled water. As the hours ticked by my lips felt comfortable. Not tight or dry. I applied my favorite sheer lip gloss over in just once to moisturize, but the color never needed a touch up. Finally later in the evening I get home and decide to sit down and fully inspect the results.

The color did fade, but only slightly. I actually like it better then initial application because it is dark/pigmented when first applied. The wear/fading was even so it still looked well kept & neat. Some long wear I've noticed the center of your lips would wear off leave you looking like you had a ring of lip liner on and nothing else.

When I drank my coffee & water no color came off on the glass. So it is transfer resistant. Bring on the kisses!!

As I mentioned I did us a different lip gloss as a touch up later. Using something other then the intended gloss that came in the tube did not affect the lipstick. It did not weaken the long wear affect or cause it to break down. Which I was happy about because being able to use a different top coat or lip gloss if I wanted was a plus. It allows you to subtlety change your look. Lighten or darken the long wear color. So another plus is that it's versatile.

Over all I liked this product allot. It did what it was supposed to do for me with out any side affect.

I would recommend this to anyone in need of a lipstick they can put on in the morning and not worry about re-applying all day long. This is nice for long hours at work or for a night out and you don't want to bring in your purse to carry lipstick to re-apply.
